Integrity Rewarded: Dubai Police Honor Resident for Returning Dh200,000
In a powerful display of civic duty, Mohammed Suleiman Al Qaryouti, a Jordanian resident, has been officially recognized by Dubai Police for his exceptional honesty. After discovering Dh200,000 in cash in a public parking area, Al Qaryouti immediately reported the find to the Bur Dubai Police Station. A High-Level Recognition
To mark his integrity, a formal ceremony was held where Al Qaryouti was presented with a certificate of appreciation. The honor was led by:
Brigadier Khalifa Khalid Al Awadhi (Director of Bur Dubai Police Station)
Lieutenant Colonel Ali Ibrahim Al Awar
Brigadier Al Awadhi lauded the gesture, stating that such actions embody the noble values of UAE society and serve as a prime example of how public cooperation strengthens national security and community trust.
Strengthening Community Ties
The recognition is part of a broader mission by Dubai Police to:
Encourage Public Integrity: Highlighting "good Samaritan" acts to inspire others.
Foster Collaboration: Building a bridge between the police force and the residents they protect.
Uphold the UAE’s Image: Promoting the country as a place where ethical behavior is both standard and celebrated.
"Simply the Right Thing to Do"
Despite the official accolades, Al Qaryouti remained humble about his decision. He noted that he did not expect to be honored, asserting that returning the lost sum was merely a moral obligation. He thanked the authorities for the gesture and for their ongoing efforts to encourage a sense of responsibility within the community.
